Why not consider making that evening one that will not only boost your spirits but those of others as well?
Penobscot Nation Boys & Girls Club board member Pam Colson Power reports that organization is hosting a fund-raiser for the club beginning with a 5 p.m. social hour Saturday, March 22, at the Black Bear Inn in Orono.
Tickets are $100 for two people and, between the dinner and the dancing, you will have the opportunity to participate in a Native American Silent Auction that features American Indian works and other great auction items as well.
"All proceeds will benefit the Penobscot Nation youth," Power reports.
"The club was established to inspire and enable all young people, and their families, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible citizens.
"This fund-raiser will support Penobscot Nation youth cultural programs, athletic programs, and health and education programs.
"It is our goal," she added, "to build a computer technology center and a teen center."
Power said that in addition to handmade American Indian items such as a talking stick and Penobscot baskets, you will be able to bid on an autographed Stephen King book, and baseballs autographed by Mike Bordick.
"We are excited about this event, and are confident that those who join us will share in our enthusiasm in supporting the Penobscot Nation youth," she added.
There is still time, if you wish, to donate an item for the auction.
