Russell Roy, Forest Manager - Russ has overall responsibility of the Forestry Program.  This includes planning of harvest operations, thinning operations and other activities on the lands.  He also works with outside agencies, such as the USDA-NRCS, to fund road and stream crossing improvements. 

He has a B.S. degree in Forest Management from the University of Maine and is a Maine Licensed Forester.



Dennis Stevens, Forester - Dennis works primarily in western Maine looking after the operations in Alder Stream and Carrabassett Valley.  He is responsible for the layout and supervision of these harvest operations.  In addition, he also does inventory work, insect population monitoring and supervises road and stream crossing improvement projects.

He has a forestry degree from the University of Maine and is a Maine Licensed Forester.


IMAG1801 1 1Chuck Loring, Jr., Forester - Chuck works primarily on the eastern Maine lands. He assists in inventory work, harvest layout and supervision. He does layout work for the thinning operations.  He has run the purple trap program for Emerald Ash Borer for several years.

He has a B.S. degree in Forest Operations from the University of Maine and is a Maine Intern Licensed Forester.


Dave Almenas and Ron Bear , Forest Technicians –  Dave and Ron spend much of their time in the field updating trust land boundary lines. After lands go into trust, the federal government surveys them often moving boundary lines.  After the survey is complete, corrected boundary lines need to be established, signed (with the yellow signs) and painted blue.

Dave and Ron also help with inventory work and the purple loostrife removal project.
