IMG 3939The Penobscot Nation Warden Service is the conservation law enforcement branch of the Department of Natural Resources. All members are fully certified through the Maine Criminal Justice Academy, with full time Wardens also being graduates of the Maine Warden Academy Advanced Warden School. The Department has many areas of responsibility that include the following:

  • Conservation law enforcement including fish and game laws, boating, all terrain vehicle and snowmobile law enforcement,
  • Enforcement of all Tribal, Federal and State laws on tribal lands and waters,
  • Prosecute violators in courts around the State,
  • Patrolling tribal lands and waters in trucks, all terrain vehicles, snowmobiles and boats to detect and deter criminal activities and protect tribal resources,
  • Search and rescue including the use of the department airboat.
