The Penobscot Indian Nation intends to file two applications for federal funding from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development for the purpose of financing the construction of a new Community Building and the rehabilitation of the Sockalexis Building.  Any interested party may attend the informational meeting being held and discussed on the 12/18/2017 at 5pm in the Tribal Council chambers located in the Nicholas Sapiel Bldg on Indian Island, Maine.

The following two items were located in the river along with (2) purses that were stolen from two tribal
employees. If anyone recognizes who these items may belong to, PLEASE contact the

Please be advised that the Department of Natural Resources is accepting names to be entered into a potential lottery for any available elver permits for the 2018 fishing season. The process is now that you must resubmit your information on an annual basis in order to be eligible for the elver lottery.  The deadline to apply is 12/31/17,  you can call 817-7331 and leave your name and contact information and you will be added to the pool, you may also send me an email with this information to This email address is being protected from spambots.
