Currently the PIN is researching how to improve the technique of planting endangered, fertilized Atlantic salmon eggs directly into the gravel of stream beds. This technique is being used in other parts of the state in place of or in addition to the stocking of juvenile fish. It is the actual process of planting the eggs that is the focus of the ongoing research. This important work will be continued in the winter of 2015 with assessments going on in the spring of 2015.
