Dear,  Tribal citizens,

I offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Timothy Gould, who passed away on June 29, 2025. We are extremely saddened by this loss.

Tim was a proud member of the Penobscot Nation who dedicated his life to the service and protection of our people, lands, and traditions. He served with honor and distinction as the Game Warden Supervisor for the Penobscot Nation Warden Service for over 25 years. In that role, he led with quiet strength, deep knowledge, and a steady commitment to our community.

Before becoming Warden Supervisor, Tim had already built a respected career in law enforcement. He served as both a police officer and Chief of Police for the Penobscot Nation and also held the roles of officer and sergeant with the Orono Police Department. His decades of service are a testament to his lifelong dedication to keeping people safe and upholding the values of justice and responsibility.

Tim was more than a protector of our natural resources. He was a familiar and comforting presence across our community. Many will remember his generosity and humor, especially during Community Days, when he delighted families by giving airboat rides on the Penobscot River. Those moments brought joy to our people and reflected the kind of man he was.

We will remember Tim for his service, his humility, and his deep love for the Penobscot Nation. He will be deeply missed, and we will carry his memory with us always.

Kirk E. Francis, Chief (And on behalf of the Tribal Council)
