The Penobscot Nation, along with the Passamaquoddy’s at Pleasant Point and the Houlton Band of Maliseet Indians are looking to apply for the DOE Grid Resilience Grant to undertake multiple projects to include stationary and mobile battery banks to help provide the Tribe’s with greater energy backup and the ability to provide power and service to area’s where there may be none or in the event of a natural disaster.
