River levels at the local dams
The Milford and Gilman Falls Dam flashboards were successfully raised yesterday, and Milford Project operations are now back to normal. Brookfield plans to take advantage of the current and forecasted dry weather period and dropping river flows to repair/replace/raise flashboards at other Penobscot assets over the next week. Below is a tentative schedule for these repairs and the anticipated drawdown targets to accommodate the work:
Orono Dam – today (1.5 feet below full pond)
Stillwater Dam – May 15 (3 feet below full pond)
Dolby Dam – May 16 (4.5 feet below full pond)
East Millinocket Dam – May 17 (4.5 feet below full pond)
Medway Dam – May 18 (5.8 feet below full pond)
Weldon Dam – May 18 (4.5 feet below full pond)
West Enfield Dam – May 19 (7.5 feet below full pond)”
