The Penobscot Nation Utility Department will be conducting it’s annual flushing of the drinking water system around August 6th, but pending weather conditions may carry over to the 2nd week of August. This process is expected to take 2-5 days. Normally, during flushing there can be a slight discoloration to the water supply when faucets and other plumbing fixtures are first used. This is typical but is resolved by running faucets and fixtures for several minutes. In addition to this, slight drops in water pressure may also be noted and may continue until flushing the system is complete. After completion, it is recommended that plumbing fixtures with screens, have their screens removed and cleaned. If there are any questions or concerns, please call 817-7385.
