Riverfest Parade 2026 – Community Traffic Notice
Date: Saturday, September 26, 2026
Parade start: 10:00 AM
Road closure: Main Street/Route 43 closes to general traffic at 9:30 AM.
Starting point: Main Street/Gilman Falls Avenue and Fourth Street, west of the Penobscot Nation Bridge.
Route: The parade will begin near Main Street/Gilman Falls Avenue and Fourth Street, just west of the Penobscot Nation Bridge, and proceed along Main Street toward downtown Old Town.
Island access: Traffic may cross toward Brunswick Street until the parade begins, with possible brief interruptions if traffic backs up near the bridge.
Police coordination: Old Town/Riverfest committee has been in coordination and the Police will assist with intermittent traffic access on and off Indian Island.
