Message from the Chief

We are no longer using Zoom – Council Meetings will now be hosted through Microsoft Teams.
Online access to meetings has always been available; we are simply transitioning to a new platform to better support our community.

HOW TO REGISTER & JOIN:

1. REGISTER ONLINE:
   Visit penobscotnation.org or our Facebook page Penobscot Nation to find the registration link. (Look for our Tribal Seal in black & white as the profile picture.)
2. FILL OUT REGISTRATION FORM:
   o Enter your first and last name
   o Accept Microsoft Teams permissions
   i IMPORTANT: The name you register with must match the name in the Tribal Census Book

Council Meetings are for Penobscot Tribal Members ONLY
If your name is not on the rolls, you will be removed from the meeting.

3. RECEIVE CONFIRMATION & REMINDERS:
   o Once registered, you will receive confirmation and automatic email updates, including reminders and any changes to the meeting (reschedules, cancellations, etc.)
4. JOINING THE MEETING:
   o On the day of the meeting, click the link provided in your email.
   o You can join:
   • In the Microsoft Teams App (if you have an account), OR
   • In your web browser- no download required.

REGISTRATION OPENS:
As soon as the meeting is announced and posted- registration stays open up to the start of the meeting.
I PLEASE NOTE:

• These meetings use Microsoft Teams Webinar format, not a regular Teams meeting.
. Chat, camera, and microphone features will be disabled for all attendees.
• We are focused on the in-person meeting, and we cannot monitor chats while taking motions and votes.
• If you have concerns or questions you’d like answered or discussed in the meeting, you are welcome to email Council at anytime.
• Only the meeting organizer can adjust webinar settings during the meeting.
• This is a new platform for us, and we’re doing our best to make meetings accessible to everyone.
