Sugar Island Experiential Learning Initiative
The Sugar Island Experiential Learning Initiative, offered through the Penobscot Nation Cultural & Historic Preservation Department, invites Maine educators to participate in land-based professional learning experiences on the Penobscot River this summer.
These small-cohort experiences support educators implementing Wabanaki Studies through place-based and interdisciplinary learning guided by Penobscot educators and licensed river guides.
Program options include:
• River Day experience
• Overnight experience
• 4-day immersive experience (with spring virtual preparation)
