EMERGENCY WARMING CENTER

The Penobscot Nation Emergency Management will be opening a “Warming Center” at the Indian Island School on December 19th from 4 PM-9 PM. This center will serve as a place for community members to get warm and charge electronic devices, while we wait for power to be restored to the reservation.

The cafeteria at the school has been designated as the actual location and we ask all those that will be utilizing the center, to please remain in the cafeteria while they are in the building.

We will continue to monitor the temperature forecast and updates from Versant Power, in determining if additional hours that the center may need to be open.

The Penobscot Nation’s Health Department will be providing food and beverages for those that would like something to eat. All notifications of the warming center’s hours will be posted on the Penobscot Nation Facebook page.
